Frequently asked questions about your tattoo
How do I book a tattoo?
+
The easiest way is through the contact form or by email to florianhirnhack@gmail.com. Send me your idea, where you’d like the tattoo, its approximate size and any reference images you’d like to share.
How much does a tattoo cost?
+
I don’t have fixed prices – I price each tattoo individually based on the design. Size, placement and level of detail all matter. I’ll give you an exact price during a free consultation or on request.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
+
A deposit is generally required to book an appointment. We’ll discuss the amount and how it’s credited towards the price together beforehand.
Can you tattoo my own idea?
+
Yes, as long as it fits within my artistic range: botanical, biological and surrealist designs.
What is a flash tattoo?
+
A flash is a ready-drawn design that is tattooed only once. I draw each flash design once and tattoo it just once, too. You can find the current designs on the flash page.
How long is the waiting time?
+
The waiting time depends a lot on my current bookings – the best thing to do is simply send an appointment request. I share open appointments in the newsletter first.
Is the tattoo studio queer-friendly?
+
Yes. MUSE is a queer tattoo studio and a safe space for everyone: inclusive and open to people of every background, with all kinds of bodies and needs. I want you to feel comfortable and respected here.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
+
It’s best to wear comfortable, dark clothing – and you’re welcome to bring drinks or snacks, too. I also have water and tea for you at the studio.
Can I take a break while being tattooed?
+
Yes, at any time. Just let me know when you need a break – and please feel free to tell me about your needs in general. I want you to feel comfortable from start to finish.
How do I care for my tattoo?
+
After three days, carefully remove the protective film, wash the tattoo with lukewarm water, pat it dry and apply a thin layer of tattoo ointment 3–4 times a day (for example Pegasus from the pharmacy). For two weeks: no scratching or picking, no sauna, baths, swimming or strong sunlight. Your tattoo is healed after 4–6 weeks – keep protecting it with SPF 50. And don’t worry: after your appointment I’ll take the time to go through aftercare with you. If anything is unclear before or afterwards, you can always email me.
Do you speak English?
+
Yes, I speak English – I’m happy to do consultations in English, too.
